so I am going to write about some stuff that came to my mind in the bathroom. Well it is purely my opinion , I am not pin pointing anyone and you are free to agree or disagree.

What does hogwarts have that is similar to Reality?

The answer is

Yes Yes a Sorting hat.

I know what some people are thinking
How can there be a sorting hat in reality????
well lets draw some parallels from our schools to the sorting hats.

In our wee years in education, Our choice of location is the sorting hats even before we start school. One simple example, for parents who bother to have their children put into a good school would move near to the school so as to have a higher chance of balloting for a space right there. On the other hand, some parents are fine with neighbourhood schools and believe their children will do fine. Yet we must take into consideration of the school culture and the differences in curriculum the different "leagues" of school offers. Even though the fundamentals of subjects taught are similar, the different exposure children have in Primary school makes a difference to their grades which in turn affects how they view themselves and who they would be.

After PSLE, we all get sorted again. Some people get sorted in the " ravenclaw", some into the Sporty " gryffindor" ( Sport school). While others are sorted into different streams ( express, NA, NT). Different schools have different types of education systems offered, the elites schools might offer a third language, Some other schools offer triple science. Even between streams, each stream has a different label as to how they should behave. This is pretty much like the sorting hats that sorts how each student should think and behave.

This continues all the way to the tertiary education. The different school culture affect how student would do too. If everyone in school studies hard there is always the inevitable peer pressure and same goes to schools with different mentalilty. Even though there are exceptions from each school, the scale of effect the school culture play is important to the motivation the students get. The percentage of distinctions expected from good schools are naturally higher as they have a reputation to keep . Even in applying for scholarships , students from better schools tend to get more recognition than those from normal schools.

I am not saying that the school effects students grade because there are students who do well even though they are in normal schools. Yet we cannot forget that the school type and culture can motivate or unmotivate students. It also causes students to believe or limit themselves.

Of course there are some exceptions and this people are to be applaud for being who they are.
All in all a sorting hat can determine where you should go, but you decide what you can do.

These are just my thoughts and as i have mention , everyone can have different thoughts on this topic
